Frances Fusae Namba Ito, 92, Noblesville, died September 26, 2013.
She was born in Astoria, Ore., to Kazue and Shizuo Sato Namba, both immigrants from Japan.
In 1942, her parents, two younger brothers and she were among more than 120,000 Japanese and Japanese-Americans living on the West Coast who were forced to move to 10 U.S. military internment camps during World War II. About two-thirds of the internees had been born in the United States. Frances, however, was allowed to leave the Minidoka internment camp in Idaho in late 1942 for Indianapolis and Fort Benjamin Harrison. Her fiancé, Ben Y. Ito, was serving in the U.S. Army at Fort Ben, where they were married on Nov. 8, 1942.
She was a graduate of St. Helen’s Hall junior college, Portland, Ore.
Mrs. Ito worked as billing clerks for Public Service Indiana and L.S. Ayres & Co., and was secretary at Ito & Koby Dental Laboratory, all in Indianapolis, and was office manager at Benito Dental Studio in Seymour and Carmel, from 1976 to 1986.
Survivors include sons, Craig S. Ito and Kirk A. (Ratana) Ito, both of Indianapolis, and daughter Cathy (Burnette) Shilling of Bluffton, Ohio; six grandchildren, Brianne (John) Bowling, Brandon (Kara) Shilling, and Rebecca, Micah, Kathryn and Jared Ito; and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 5, 2013 at Grace Community Church, of which she was its oldest member. Calling will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, October 4 and 10 a.m. until service time on Saturday at the church, 5504 E. 146th Street, Noblesville. After a brief reception at noon, her entombment will take place at Washington Park North Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the church, http://gracechurchin.org/

A gracious lady with a beautiful smile. How proud she must be of her son Craig, a true gentleman in every respect. I never knew Mrs. Ito, but by knowing her son, I am confident that hers was a life well lived and pleasing to God. And now her eternal journey begins. May her family know the comforting hand of God at this time.
